I am a good person. Why do I need God?

Many people think that they are a good person and therefore do not need God. Almost all people think they are better than the average person which raises an interesting mathematical question but we don't need to discuss this now. The real question is what is the true standard of "good". When we think of "good" we compare ourselves to those people around us. But God' standard is a perfect standard. But the higher purpose of knowing God is not to feel guilty of our weakness. No, the most excellent purpose of knowing God is to obtain the power to overcome our weakness.
